Tumbling Blocks Escher Style

Taking inspiration from the artist Escher, I constructed this piece in a way to confuse the viewer as to what is in the foreground versus what is in the background and wove the blocks together in a fashion that leaves you wondering where one-piece ends, and another begins. One side of the pink frame was purposely created through the quilt rather than the outside perimeter, again, to defy expectations.

This quilt was juried into the Festival of Quilts, Europe’s largest quilt show.
